Cuddling Could Be The Answer To A Great Sex Life

Cuddling might not get you rowdy, but it could be the gateway to having a fantastic and fulfilled sex life with your partner.

So, if you want to enjoy having lots of fun under the sheets, make sure you put in the effort when you’re not in the bedroom too.

  • Non-cuddlers have poor sex life

  • According to doctors John and Julie Gottman, who spoke on the Diary of a CEO podcast recently, only four per cent of non-cuddlers reported having a great sex life.

This means 96 per cent of couples who do not cuddle each other claim they do not enjoy sex with their partner, which is a shocking statistic, Lad Bible reported

  • Why touch is important in a relationship

  • Touch of any sort is very important for a good sex life, and for most people, it doesn’t start with ripping your clothes off. Holding hands, having a hug, or stroking arms or legs can make couples feel intimate and connected.

John said: “Touch is very important - even physical touch and public affection was a big thing.”

Of course, many times being physically affectionate with one another can lead to other things, but even if they don’t, it still bonds a couple, so they feel more open to intimacy another time.

The less people in relationships touch each other the more uncomfortable and tentative they could feel when they do, which could put them off having sex or make the encounter feel awkward and disconnected.

  • Kissing is good too

  • As well as cuddling, kissing is very important. John recommended kissing for at least six seconds, as this is how long it takes for the body to release oxytocin, the love hormone.

This is normally produced when you are attracted to another person, making couples feel like they are in the first throes of love again.

It is thought to have a role to play in how intense orgasms can be, while also increasing trust, empathy and positive communication, all of which makes sex all that better.

Hugging for at least 20 seconds also releases oxytocin, though kissing is more likely to lead to sex if that is what you are hoping for.

  • Saying ‘I love you’

  • Saying ‘I love you’ to your partner every day is also important, as it makes them feel wanted and secure in the relationship.

John told Steven Bartlett, entrepreneur and host of the Diary of a CEO: “There are really about a dozen things that people do and have a great life - saying ‘I love you’ every day and meaning it is one of them, giving compliments, romantic gifts, having a lot of touch.”

Security is essential in a thriving relationship, as it makes couples feel connected with one another and increases their sense of trust. This can make sex a lot more intimate, which, for many people, increases the intensity of an orgasm.

So, make saying ‘I love you’ a habit you always keep up with, as it can help you maintain a great sex life for as long as possible.

Of course, don’t forget to spice things up in the bedroom too with some sex toys or sexy clothing, as this makes sure your relationship doesn’t fall into the ‘friend zone’.
